Family Program
Literacy is Our Legacy
Literacy is the foundation to how we learn and grow. Children learn emotional and social resiliency through literacy. It is the skillset we use to interact with our world. By educating our children, we are empowering them to achieve their full potential in school and throughout all aspects of their life.
.
What we offer
Parents would be assessed and matched with a trained volunteer tutor. Tutors would meet parents for up to three hours per week at a convenient time. Parent and tutor would meet to work on a learning plan developed around their personal language, math and/or computer needs and goals.

Bears and Beams
Be Enthusiastic About Reading Success and Be Enthusiastic About Math Success
The Bears & Beams program, first introduced in 1989, matches our volunteers to children in classrooms in School District #68 who are in need of extra help with reading or math. Working under the direction of the classroom teacher, the individual attention provided proves to be rewarding to both the student and volunteer.
